JOHN 3 VERSE 16 AND ISLAM (Two)

Sahih al-Bukhari, Belief; Book 2, Hadith 35 Narrated ‘Abu Huraira

(…continues from part 1…)

2)            Let me take you to the Hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari, Belief; Book 2, Hadith 35 Narrated ‘Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) said, “If any one of you improve (follows strictly) his Islamic religion then his good deeds will be rewarded ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed and a bad deed will be recorded as it is.” Good Islamic deeds is opposed to Romans 10:9-12 9) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11) For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12) For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.” The word ‘confess’ is homologeō (hom-ol-og-eh’-o): ‘to say the same thing as another, i.e. to agree with, assent, acknowledge.’ When it says, “confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,” what it means is to acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life. The sincerity of the prayer, believing from the heart, is what God wants to see, and the Holy Spirit, on account of your confession takes permanent residence in your regenerated spirit, never to vacate you. Is this verse not at variance with Islamic teaching of the moral rectitude of the fallen Adam?

“…being justified by his grace” (Titus 3:7)

Titus 3:3-7 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6) Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” The Trinity is truly involved in this salvation: the Father shows His abundant love by the appearance of Jesus, our Saviour. Our sinful gene got renewed by the Holy Spirit for the consummation of righteousness that makes us eternal heirs of the Divinity.

Does Islam believe in Adamic heirship of the Divinity? Muhammad hates the idea of Jehovah having children. Al-Isra’ is the 17th chapter of the Qur’an, verse 111 reads, “And say, “Praise to Allah, who has not taken a son and has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness; and glorify Him with [great] glorification.”” The Christian heirship is borne out of the fact of Romans 8:15 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” Of Scriptural truth, our filial propinquity is well captured in Ephesians 1:3-6 3) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6) To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”

He said, “To participate in Jihad in Allah’s Cause.” Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 25, Hadith

1John 4:8-10 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9) In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10) Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” What is ‘propitiation’? It is the Greek hilasmos (hiy-laz-mos’): ‘1. (literally) favorable forgiveness (the act and its result). 2. (properly) atonement (to obtain favorable forgiveness).

3. (concretely) one who makes atonement (for another).’ The love of God is responsible for His beneficence towards the sending of Jesus Christ to be the propitiation for our sin. Our good deeds are nothing short of Isaiah 64:6 ‘filthy rags’ where the first word, ‛êd (ayd) is: ‘menstrual flux’, and the second beged (behg’-ed) is: ‘garment, clothing (used indiscriminately)’. Our moral righteousness cannot save us. It is the love of God, flowing from the beneficence of His grace is what saves our souls from eternal damnation. Islamic theological belief shares no correlative understanding verse when you look at Sahih al-Bukhari, Hajj (Pilgrimage); Book 25, Hadith 7: Narrated ‘Abu Huraira: The Prophet (pbuh) was asked, “Which is the best deed?” He said, “To believe in Allah and His Apostle.” He was then asked, “Which is the next (in goodness)?” He said, “To participate in Jihad in Allah’s Cause.” He was then asked, “Which is the next?” He said, “To perform Hajj-Mabrur. “

1John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.”  The love of God taught us to love Him and one another. What God gave is the next to be considered.

Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. Say this sinner’s prayer.

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
