THE GAME IS UP!!! (part two)
…continued from part one The Lord brought us closer when He taught, “When ye pray, say, Our Father who art in heaven….” A brilliant thinking man began to find solid stronghold to free himself from the shackles of satanic gaol, suddenly realizing that God is his Father. Be an overcoming child of God. Be wise. Capitalize on the finished work of Jesus. He went to the cross to shed a substitutionary blood for all who are born into sin. The Devil thought that was the end of the scriptural narrative. Three days! Three for the Trinity: The perfect manifestation of the Godhead. One day each for the saints of the past, present day of His incarnation, and the future days of His followers. Three days and nights for the salvation of souls who so desire.
There was nothing the enemy could do. 1Corinthians 2:8, “Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Too late! The game was up! All you need is to believe and know like Paul who maintained categorically in all sincerity, “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day” [2Timothy 1:12].
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” This is the rhetoric Paul puts forth in 1Corinthians 15:55. Satan did his cruelest worst to no avail. Today, as a Christian, 1John 4:4 makes crystal clear, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” The reason is found in the confidence brewing words of our Lord, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” [John 16:33]. Tell the devil, “The game is up for you. You’ve lost. You’re the loser! Speak God’s word in faith, as if you are the author of it, and he will most definitely be thrown into abject, clueless stupor. Do not be ignorant of the truth in the depressed mannerism of the jittery Israelites; do come to an aggressive conclusion of Romans 8:37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
Take the stand of Ephesians 6:13, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” And because it is possible the preceding 14th verse enjoins, “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;” all because the One who had overcome for you is fighting on your behalf in Revelation 6:2, “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” This is found in Luke 10:19 where ‘power’ is exousia ex-oo-see’-ah): ‘privilege, that is, (subjectively) force, capacity, competency, freedom, or (objectively) mastery (concretely magistrate, superhuman, potentate, token of control), delegated influence.’ Let me explain this verse to the titillation of somebody. This is a transfer of divine power to His body: the Church, which includes you and me. The LORD has given you the authority over the knavishness of the enemy. Use it!
A crazy mistake his dubious game plan turned out to be. You cannot be too sure of your resolve when you wield a stand of marginalization towards the authority. Lucifer was too sure of himself in his insubordinate circumvention of divine authorization.
Jesus testified of your archenemy, “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven” in Luke 10:18. The days of traumatizing you with his insufferable molestations are over. He has lost the war.
Resist the Devil! He’ll flee!!
I have often told Satan that I will expose him. Just get born again and throw, in faith, the word of scripture in his face. Lucifer has no solution to it now and forever! The Bible says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” [James 4:7]. The word ‘submit’ is hupotassō (hoop-ot-as’-so): ‘to subordinate; reflexively to obey.’
Anthistēmi (anth-is’-tay-mee) is the Greek word for ‘resist’ meaning: ‘to stand against, that is, oppose.’ Then comes the word ‘flee’. It is called, in Greek, pheugō (fyoo’-go): ‘to run away (literally or figuratively); by implication to shun; by analogy to vanish.’ Lucifer, the greatest evil, will flee, looking for a way of escape at the mention of the name of JESUS! For your information, Lucifer is scared stiff of you (but he will play on your ignorant intelligence). Lucifer knows the potency of the power the Christian commands. He does everything in his insidious craftiness to incapacitate you. He debilitates you by keeping you from the use of the name of Jesus.
The game he started is over. Amen!
Get truly born again by saying this sinners’ prayer: “Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
