IS THE LORD GOD THE AUTHOR OF MORAL EVIL? (nine)
“Sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor” (Mark 10:21)
(Continued from part 8…)
9) The biggest didactic problem of Scripture by pastors is the contextual pretermission. While the Mark issue pertains to Divine soteriological grace, that of Genesis and Luke demonstrates the fact that, ‘whatever He promises He is able to perform’ (Romans 4:21). What God says not, He does not try to do. Does this point to God’s weakness? Not at all! The holy writ elucidates in Psalm 12:6, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” Let us understand some words in this verse. ‘Pure’ is the Hebraic ṭâhôr or ṭâhôr (taw-hore’): ‘pure (in a physical, chemical, ceremonial, ethical or moral sense).’ The next is ‘tried’ and it is tsâraph (tsaw-raf’): ‘to smelt, refine, test.’ The term ‘purified’ is zâqaq (zaw-kak’): ‘to purify, distil, strain, refine, purge, (figuratively) extract, clarify.’
I do not know why some minds will stray away from scriptural reality. They lean on the erratic thoughts of carnality that suggests a likelihood of Jehovah’s weakness all because He cannot do evil. What the LORD God simply does is to limit His acts to His spoken Word. His Word is actually Himself –the Lord Jesus–, a Personage! The LORD God limits Himself by the limitlessness of His Divinity! What makes the One who is limited by His limitlessness to be less Almighty? This Being must be absolutely unlimited in goodness. With this revelation, tell me how weak is HIS Almighty Being?!
Let us say, Pastor Chris Okotie has an uncanny strength of an ox and a stallion put together, and possesses a coition capability engagement with five very active women, to the extent of doing twenty minutes per person. Let us also say that he is endowed with the virility to sleep with each of them and start all over again and again the third straight time and still be untired, will this man of God be a weakling if he should refuse to use his endowed manhood to commit adultery or fornication? Selah!
The sacredness of the Word of God is: tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
In Psalm 12:6, the ‘furnace of earth’ is a cupel –a small circular receptacle used in assaying gold or silver with lead. As the silver is assayed to rid it of every impurity, so does God look at the word of His intended act. The LORD God goes from the eternity past, to the present days of the earth, and unto the eternity to come, making sure that every word of His Divine mouth will never go out of philosophical, ethical and moral fashion; and then He speaks it. Every will of Jehovah is absolutely perfect! This reminds me of Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6) Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” The ‘pure’ found in the 5th verse is tsaraph (tsaw-raf’): ‘to fuse (metal), i.e. refine (literally or figuratively);’ while the ‘liar’ of the next verse is kazab (kaw-zab’): ‘to lie (i.e. deceive), literally or figuratively.’ God cannot lie: for it is of the evil one. If God should commit any evil, He most definitely falls from His Almighty state, queuing behind Lucifer, the father of lies. So, tell me. Why will God mess His Divinity with evil?
Reverend Chris Okotie -erudition of bucolic ecumenism.
Sinfulness never crawls into His divine mind, ergo, He never utters a willingness to perpetrate the evil. Does it not say somewhere “God: that cannot lie,” in Titus 1:2? And are we not strengthened by: “…in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us” (Hebrews 6:18)? Does His inability to lie make Him less Almighty? Nay! Untrue statements are not contained in the Logos, ergo, no rhema publishes a lying tongue of the Divinity. Rev. Chris Okotie teaches that “Even when God says that a black object is white, go and take a look at it, it will change to white, simply because whatever He says comes to pass.” Amen.
Rid your mind of unscriptural thoughts. Get born again. Say this simple prayer, believing it with all your heart. Say:
“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
