I WILL GIVE YOU REST [part two]

Who gave the Old Testament Job the spiritual and financial rest?

(2)          Our ultimate blissful rest simply rests in the bosom of the Adonai God. Our several years of satanic captivity yearns for the rest that the Divinity alone can provide. Psalm 116:7, “Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.” The psalmist, no doubt, has the deute (call of come) of Jesus in mind knowing fully well that Jesus is the Lord of eternal rest.

It was His proper business to make this call. The oracular afflatus points this out in Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.” The fact of Gentiles’ involvement proves its universality. The invitational all yedeute can only be extended from the Divinity. There are other verses to confer: Eccl 2:23; Rom 7:22-25 & Gal 5:1.

Psalm 94:13 reads, “That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.” Who gives rest in this verse? He is found in the first verse, “O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself” [Psalm 94:1]. How could Jesus say, “…and I will give you rest”? He is the Lord God of the Old Testament. 2Thessalonians 1:7, “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,” and Hebrews 4:1 are good reference verses.

Prior to Matthew 11:28 Jesus said “All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him” in Matthew 11:27. This verse proves the Deity of Jesus, who, ergo, has the capability to bask mankind in the rest.

‘All things’ is the Greek pas (pas) meaning: ‘all, any, every, the whole.’ What is given into His hand is not few stuffs. Only God can containerise the wholeness of universal riches of creationism. ‘All,’ most definitely, does not exclude all the great men of history and of future endeavours. ‘No man’ is oudeis (oo-dice’) and it means: ‘not even one (man, woman or thing), that is, none, nobody, nothing.’ All religious founders of mammoth adherence and die hard fanaticism, philosophers of colossal strides and deified emperors; all of these do not know the Father.

‘Knoweth’ is epiginōskō (ep-ig-in-oce’-ko): ‘to become thoroughly acquainted with, to know thoroughly; to know accurately, know absolutely well.’ Christ, the fountain of all knowledge, is the only One who can achieve this impossible feat. It must take a celestial Deity to know another Deity. None can uncover the Father save the Son. The word ‘reveal,’ apokaluptō (ap-ok-al-oop’-to) means: ‘to take off the cover, that is, disclose.’ The Father is eternal. The Son must be eternal to have an absolute knowledge of the Father of lights. Jesus did not speak as a man when He said, “…and I will give you rest.” The Christ, who is the Second Member of the Godhead, made the pronouncement that can only be uttered by the Divinity. Amen!

Unto Jesus I surrender all!

When the Lord Jesus made the asseverative pronouncement of Matthew 12:8, “For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day;” He unveiled the deity of the Christ. Jesus reestablished the facticity of “Before Abraham was I AM!” The transcendentalism of His essence proves His authorship of time and, His epiginōskō (absolute knowledge) of the attendant history. Here in Matthew 12:8, His deity takes the Jews to the days of our pristine parents in the Garden of Eden.

The LORD of Sabbath comes from heaven

How could He be the Lord of Sabbath and still be standing before them? This conundrum is resolved in the book of John. “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven” [John 3:13]. He did not say to them, “Son of man which was in heaven.” Jesus, as He stood before their very eyes, was simultaneously present in heaven and on the earth. How could His physical being be a manifestation on earth and in heaven even as He spoke with them? No angel can replicate his celestial corporeality anywhere else. Only God, who alone can achieve this feat, is the One who can give this celestial rest. Jesus promises the same rest. Come to Jesus all that are heavy laden. He will give you rest. Amen!

He died to offer you His rest

Jesus will give you rest only if you will receive His life. Get born again. Say this simple prayer:

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
