Christianity Is Acquittal And Discharge From Sinful Gaol. [5]
Portrait of a Christian: acquitted, discharged and very beautiful!
(…continue from part four…)
5) The Christian’s case is likened to a speaker of a seminar –needed for just three weeks— whose return ticket, airport taxi shuttle from home, lodging for fifty-two weeks, every meal and snacks and taxi services back home have all been settled, and above all, a million dollars’ weekly stipend credited to his bank account. Now tell me how much he is expected to pay from his pocket towards his participation in the seminar? Jesus Christ has truly taken absolute care of all our spiritual debts. Amen.
1John 1:6-9 “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” God knows that the propensity of our carnality will be forced into ignition almost all the time. To His possessed people, acquitted and discharged, God continues to prove His faithfulness in the forgiveness of committed sins. This Scripture is actually meant only for Christians.
God’s long-suffering nature is the most comforting care that continues to keep us from being flung into annihilation. None can ever give what he has not. The proof of God’s long-suffering nature was a manifestation when He came down in His empyrean Majesty. The same hand of His eternal care was the utility of His protective care, of which employment He shielded Moses from gazing at His adjudicating face of eternality lest Moses be cut off from the living. Exodus 34:6-7 “And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7) Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.” ‘Merciful’ comes from the Hebraic lrachûm (rakh-oom’) meaning: ‘Compassionate or sympathetic.’
The Hebrew word for ‘gracious,’ channûn (khan-noon’), comes from its root, chânan (khaw-nan’): ‘portraying God as bending or stooping in kindness to an inferior; to favor, bestow; causatively to implore (that is, move to favor by petition).’ ‘Long-suffering’ comes from ‘ârêk and ‘aph. The first one, ‘ârêk (aw-rake’) means: ‘long (pinions), patient, slow to anger.’ The next, ‘aph (af), is: ‘the nose or nostril; hence the face, and occasionally a person; also (from the rapid breathing in passion) ire:’ put together, you have: ‘not easily moved to anger by what comes to one’s face’. God’s attribute of ‘goodness’ chêsêd (kheh’-sed), means: ‘kindness, faithfulness.’ Then we have ‘truth’ which is ’emeth (eh’-meth): (noun feminine) ‘firmness, faithfulness, sureness, reliability; stability, continuance; certainty, trustworthiness.’
A good Bible student will move, with ease that accompanies the Holy Spirit’s divine didactics, scripturally way back to Genesis. The Eden garbing of Adam the male and the female made it a possibility for the same LORD God, who provided them with the garb of forgiveness, to step again into time, Who is eternal, to display His full beneficence, in His full glory. The LORD God appeared to Moses as both the impeccable Judge and the eternal Saviour. God must both be the ultimate Judge and the undying Saviour to perfect the soteriology. At Eden, the sin contaminated Adam and he ran into hiding, feeling badly garbed in iniquitous disposition to come face to face with the Most High who had walked in Majesty into Eden, His home. At the Mount Sinai experience, Moses, who, hitherto, had spoken so familiarly with His God, could not lift up even his hoary head to apprehend the physical presence of Divinity. It was too much for the carnality of the terra firma. How come this reality? Moses came into contact with the scriptural “Which is, and which was, and which is to come.”
How can mortality behold simultaneously the Eternality of the past, the stepping into mortality of time by Timelessness, and the very same Who happens to be older than eternity to come? That was not, in any conceivability, an angel; that was not an apparition. Walking before Moses, in His physical glory, was the empyrean Majesty: the LORD God of creationism. He had to appear personally to announce the soon to be perfected terms of the soteriological rites. What He killed to provide forgiveness in Eden, He would assume to prove His graciousness to mankind whom He had created not only in His likeness, but in the Divinity of His image. Abundant forth pouring of mercy of eternal dimension aimed at the Adamic forgiveness can only be perfected when, as the great Shepherd, He should stoop low, in the similitude of a servant, in kindness to the inferior object of creationism. Amen.
Spiritual acquittal and discharge takes place only when one is born again. To be born again, say, with all your heart, this simple prayer:
“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
