OPPORTUNITY: DOES IT KNOCK ONLY ONCE? [2]

God maketh my way perfect [2 Samuel 22;33]

(…continues from part one…)

2)            There are dangerous resultant effects to believing that opportunity knocks only once. It weakens faith; kills hope; wans one’s love for the saving Word of God: all of which emanate from Satanism. How does it weaken faith? It is understood, scripturally, that God holds everything together, Colossians 1:17 “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” If opportunity knocks but once, why should I pray to God when one door closes? Faith says that when one door closes, God opens another to the glory of His name. Firm belief in this maxim does not only depreciate the faith in God’s Word, it deprecates the hope of receiving from the Providence. Believing this untruthfulness slams one into egregious hopelessness. One’s love for the word of God gets waned, when an unscriptural belief infiltrates God’s protocol.

Wait upon the Lord

Waiting upon God gives another opportunity

Does the Bible not expressly enjoin believers, “Pray without ceasing” [1Thessalonians 5:17]? God is constantly looking into your heart when you cease not to pray and not tired of doing so. Why? He is doing so to ascertain the fact that you are operating in firm faith.

Cornelius did not do what was required of him just once. He kept on doing it and one day it was told of him, “Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God” [Acts 10:31]. Did Jesus allow the Bethsaida blind man to be resigned to his half deliverance fate? Jesus asked him how well he could see and the man’s response in Mark 8:24 was, “And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.” A second touch of a chance was required. Opportunity knocks once mind-set does vilipend the prerequisite faith by which a man receives from God. It tells you not to expect more from Providence. Jesus made a second chance touch, and the blind man could then sing, “I can see clearly now!”

“And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground”

One very good reason I can give for the failure of King Joash is that he had, over the years, been ill affected by a contrary view that erected a certain spirit of vilipendency for the word of God. Prophet Elisha’s nearing death situation cannot be seen as the only opportunity left for this king of Israel. Something had contaminated his faith to the Jehovah God of Israel. 2Kings 13:18-19 “And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed. 19) And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.

Elisha said to King Joash, “Shoot!”

Elisha said, Shoot!”

There is no written code of legality that specifies the number of times arrows should be shot to gain spiritual superiority over an enemy nation. It is quite understandable that when one allows an apothegm which is foreign to the instructions of the Most High, the ensuing spiritual contamination becomes a stumbling block, separating you from the protection of the Divinity. King Joash had had his mind tampered with idolatrous initiations, causing him to lose spiritual connection with the God of Israel. His wanning state of faith reared its ugly head and he could not defeat his Syrian army for as long as he should.

Wait upon the LORD [Isaiah 40:31].

Satanically designed to chicane your mentality into disbelieving God’s salubrious instructions is the veridical pointer to the entrenchment of unchristian apothegm. God’s laws are instructions designed to enhance the salubrity not only to one’s physical health, but your mental and spiritual well-being. Scrutinize every wise sayings of human understanding. It may be a trap intended to slow your walk with the Lord down.

Become a Christian; get born again.

Praying the sinner’s prayer as it is contained in Romans 10: 8-10 is the prayer of salvation that gets one born again. This settles the spiritual quarrel man has with God. To get born again, say this prayer, with all your heart:

Dear heavenly FATHER, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died for my sins. I believe that You raised Jesus Christ from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. Today, I receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and my Saviour and I give God all the glory. Amen.
