Faith emboldened Peter to walk on water.

II)          How did Peter get to walk on water as well, side by side the LORD? Faith in Him, Who had bid him to do the phenomenality of walking on water in total disregard of the law of gravity. Enoch believed the instructions of God and God was so pleased with him that He made him an example of Christians who would not taste death in the rapture. Why did God not tell an antediluvian miscreant of the stock of Cain to build the ark? They stopped having faith in the Word of God. God would not trade with those who are faith-broke, therefore, to Noah, representing the rest that God wanted to give to mankind: for He must save some, through whom the Incarnation will become a fulfillment. God’s business deal with Noah paid handsomely. Noah, doing as he was told, based not on leaning onto his heart, but, on the words of God, delivered all the eight souls and the animals into the postdiluvian age, successfully.

God has Christianity treasured in the Ark: the Lord Jesus.

                The building of the ark pointed to Christianity: the only way of life opened to mankind for the true salvation that offers perfection of Divine rest. The Hebrew word for ‘ark’ is têbâh (tay-baw’), meaning; ‘a chest, a coffer’. Têbâh is appropriately God’s treasure box. In the ark God kept safe, as a very wealthy person does everything to protect his riches from being stolen. The proof of God’s personal ownership of the soulish contents of the ark is the fact that before it began to rain and after the LORD had got those fit for salvation, the LORD Himself shut the ark. Salvation is solely God’s doing; by grace alone it is, not by the sweat of any creature. It foreshadows rapture, when Christians will be taken to heaven for safe keeping, far away from the end time Antichrist tribulation.

Isaiah 41:8 “But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.” How did Abraham become the friend of God? In the 18^th verse of Genesis 22:16-18, it reads, “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” Talk about two walking together on account of being agreed on a particular lifestyle!

Was Isaac not born in the household of Abraham, the friend of God? But the truth is that Isaac too must have that personal contact with Divinity. Genesis 26:24-25 24) “And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake. 25) And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac’s servants digged a well.” Immediately God made His word available to Isaac, he responded, by faith to build a place of worship, then proceeded to dig a well of comfort and convenience.

To whom Isaac passed the patriarchal baton the LORD God must make contact with to sharpen his faith. Genesis 28:13 “And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;” this happened when Jacob saw the dream in which angels were ascending and descending on the ladder that reached heaven. To what did Moses owe the success of his Israel leadership? God told it to the successor of Moses in Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Having followed God’s protocolary documentation, Joshua’s mustard seed of faith moved mountains of problematic wars.

Joshua 10:12-14 12) “Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13) And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14) And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.” Trials, when they come in close proximity with the wielder of faith, just dissipate. How did Joshua know that inanimate objects like the sun – that does not move at all – and the moon will give heed to his command? Faith.

Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. Say this sinner’s prayer.

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
