4)            One of the weapons of Satanism is sex.

Satan has taught demons what button of human anatomy to press to make an unwary person succumb to sexual slavery. Many are the powerful, wise or influential males who have fallen victims of demonic entrapment, having been emotionally drugged with incontinency. The good king of Israel fell for it, when, like the Woman of Eden, Lucifer made David approach Bathsheba through his pudenda. The illicit sex David had with Bathsheba resulted in committing the most dastard act in the Bible. David, the best of Israeli ordained king, concocted and actually perfected the murder of an innocent man, the husband of the woman he was having illicit sex with. This Uriah was a soldier, defending the territorial land of Israel. The first time I read this story, I exclaimed, “What! Good King David murdered the man helping him to maintain the security of God’s land!”

This is how careless men can be when we decide not to follow after Godliness. If good King David could mess up like this, any man can be careless to do worse. But, eventually, David, as God expects in every erring man, came to his senses; he did not try to defend evil, like many incorrigible souls are wont to. He asked God for forgiveness in Psalm 51:1-3 1) “To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2) Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3) For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.” This way of life marked David out, of all the kings of Israel.

Unfortunately, there is a sequela to every human act. This resultant force of our actions or inactions should occupy our minds before an embarkation of every intent. With equanimous disposition, David accepted what befell his act of wickedness. David did not try to make an unnecessary case for the removal of the sequela as a haughty Adamic heart is wont to. 2Samuel chapter 12 verse 13 “And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 12:14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. 12:22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?  12:23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.”

Bathsheba caved in to sinfulness

David displayed a contriteness of heart which the merciful Jehovah wants to behold in man and consequently forgiveness of sin becomes Divine bestowal upon the sinner who has prayed for it. Men should seek Divine counsel before illicit sexual embarkation. The urge of sex blinded David such that he could not ask God if he should have the affair with another man’s wife. Bathsheba caved in to sinfulness. Did she have any excuse for capitulating, other than, “Well, the king of Israel wanted to do it with me”? Bathsheba had not a speck of excuse to allow King David to sleep with her.

She knew that Mosaic Law forbid such sexual advance of the king. She would, like most women, rather give herself up to the enjoyment of sex, especially, with the king! We also understand that Bathsheba, like David, bounced back spiritually. Her change of heart brought her back to Divine fellowship. Her son, Solomon, ascended the throne of David, his father, even in the lifetime of David. It was quite apropos for David to witness the enthronement of his son. As God, the Father, sits on His celestial throne, it is understood, from Scriptural documentation, that the Eternal Son also sits on His throne to judge the activities of Christianity (1Corinthians 3:12-15 and 2Corinthians 5:10).

Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. Say this sinner’s prayer.

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
