YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH (3)
He came to save the emerging Church
(…continued from part two…)
3) “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.” [Ephesians 2:8-9]. What is ‘faith’? It is the Greek pistis (piy’-stis) which means: ‘1. a trust. 2. a firm persuasion, a confidence. 3. (especially) a reliance upon Jesus for salvation. 4. (abstractly) constancy in such reliance. 5. (by extension) the trust in Jesus and the resulting conduct and attitudes of abiding in the Truth Himself.’ The noun ‘gift’ is doron (dō’-ron): ‘1. a gift, present. 2. (specially, to God) an offering.’ The next word is ‘work’, ergon (er’-ğon) meaning: ‘1. work (as an effort or occupation). 2. (by implication) an act.’ And ‘boast’ is ’kauchaomai (kaf-cha’-o-mai): ‘to glory, vaunt.’ The grace of God is a free present that is given as a result of having exhibited faith (on the part of the individual believer) in the finished work of Jesus. The grace of salvation is not an outcome of any moral or physical effort; it is wholly God’s work of Divine donation lest anyone should boast, believing that his effort of righteousness has fashioned out the soteriology.
What the grace of Jehovah did is found beautifully couched in the Book of 1Peter 2:9-10, 9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” The word ‘mercy’ is an act, according to this verse, which comes from the Greek eleeō (el-eh-eh’-o), meaning: ‘to compassionate specifically by divine grace.’ Another interesting word is ‘peculiar’, peripoiēsis (per-ee-poy’-ay-sis): ‘acquisition (the act or the thing); by extension preservation.’ Peripoiēsis comes from peripoieomai (per-ee-poy-eh’-om-ahee): ‘to make to remain over; to reserve, to leave or keep safe, lay by; to make to remain for one’s self; to preserve for one’s self; to get for one’s self, purchase; to make around oneself, that is, acquire (buy).’
He died to right Adam’s wrongness
Will God spend His Divine resource in purchase of something He will, one day, destroy? Will God die a most gruelling death just to save someone who would drop the ball again? Peripoiēsis says that we are like a circle with a dot inside it. God would only open the circle for the temptation He knows we have the capability to surmount. Is God’s grace not an amazing pulchritude to behold? Hallelujah! The Truth has adorned our intellectualism with the facticity that we are eternally of God’s preservation. As an argute Businessman, will God make a purchase of what will not serve Him eternally, taking into cognizance that He, the LORD God, is the Eternal One?
He is the One in charge of our preserved righteousness. So, how is the loss of the soteriology made impossible? When our dear lives are certified regenerate, they are hid in Jesus, the Eternal Christ, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. From the eternity past of ‘which was,’ Christ had known the Christians, at this time of ‘which is,’ by Jesus we are saved, to be made manifest throughout the eternity of ‘which is to come’. Selah! He came to save you!
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” [Romans 8:2]. This Scripture unveils an overwhelming, sacred truth concerning the covenantal child of Almighty God. God warned Adam in Genesis 2:17, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” The divine law of sin and death is the legal potency that killed Adam and his sinful natured progenies for the commitment of the original sin of disobedience. This malediction ruled the lives of the Adamic race for thousands of years. Another divine law had to be promulgated for grace to come into operational benediction. The Lord God is a God of legality. To bring soteriological act into functionality, the promulgation of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus had to be brought into effect.
Christianity received this truth and had been set free. Remember what the Spirit led Paul to write in Romans 8:15, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” Grace has successfully ushered us into a most enviable status of divine progeny. Thank God for Christianity; it enables a room for an adoption, even by the Divinity. What a fabulous favour! What happens to be abhorrence to Islam, for lack of the knowledge of theology, the Lord has bequeathed to His faith wielding born again Christians, most privileged to address the Most High as, “Father!” Hallelujah! Many times when we go into the Spirit inspired glossolalia, we attract divine influence, calling the Most High, “Dear Daddy!” In the light of this revelatory truth, the phenomenal rhetorical enquiry is, “If the Almighty God be our empyrean Father, who can be against us?” Selah!
Get born again by saying this simple prayer.
“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
