Why Was Adam Created Naked? (two)
“Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten…thou shouldest not eat” (Gen 3:11?)
(…continues from part 1…)
2) The paramount reason for the inceptional nakedness of the pristine couple was purely on probationary intent. In the first Adam there was a failure, leading unrighteousness and eventually to death. God had not, in any way given up on the importance of Adam. That called for the emergence of the second Man or the last Adam for the actuality of the supreme grounds, kept in the mind of God, for creating man. John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” Compare John 12:26; John 14:28 and John 17:24. Have you asked yourself where Jesus, who reveals this promise, sits in heaven?
Jesus told the unbelieving religious gatherings of Israel in Luke 22:69, “Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.” This is where the Lord Jesus sits in the empyrean Majesty. The reading of Hebrews 1:3 says, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”
The ultimate elevation of the naked Adam is the entrance into celestial glory. Why would God change the name of Jacob to Israel, which means ‘he will rule by the side of God’? Is it not written of the Adamic creature, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him” (Psalm 8:4)? A grander couch from the psalmist is sung in Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” The first of the two words of Adamic grandeur in this verse is ‘fearfully’ that is Yârê’ (yaw-ray’) which in Hebraic definition is: ‘to cause astonishment and awe; to inspire reverence or godly fear; morally to revere; causatively to frighten.’ The second being ‘wonderfully’ is Pâlâh (paw-law’) means: “to be distinct, marked out, be separated, be distinguished.’
In his nakedness, Adam gave names to other creative works of God. Did God ever repudiate any of the sobriquets? He did not, to prove that the naked Adam was the responsible head of the world. The Scriptures point to the fact that “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3) Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life” (1Corinthians 6:2-3)? There is, in the creation of Adam, something that is awe inspiring that truly distinguished the Adamic reality from other beings of intelligence.
Lucifer sinned and that was the end of his righteous stand before God. The angels that followed Lucifer tried to populate the earth with their ungodly progenies of half-angels-half-men; and what happened? They have been serving their gaol sentences in Tartarus ever since. There were beings on earth when Lucifer and his fallen angels were cast to it. They were subtly deceived into following the Devil; that, getting them estranged from the holy God, they became demonic entities of disembodied evil spirits. The fall of Adam begat God’s anger; but this fall did not cause the annihilation of his entire progenies. The naked days of his righteous Eden abode engendered the spirit of meekness. From his heart, God saw true repentance.
A meek person is a teachable creation of God. Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” The word ‘meek’ is Praus (prah-ooce’): ‘Mildness of disposition, gentleness of spirit; mild, that is, (by implication) humble.’ The nakedness having helped in the endowment of divine gentleness, Adam, the lord of Eden, sinned; was washed in the blood of Jesus for his forgiveness; every one of his progenies who heed the call of salvation receives spiritual cleansing, becomes born again; he will be transported to heaven in divine rapture if he or she lives to the time of the revelation of the Antichrist. In heaven, the gentleness of his spiritual disposition places him beside Jesus Christ at the right hand of the celestial Majesty; after that Adam comes back to the earth to inherit it forever, in the name of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. Say this sinner’s prayer.
“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
