DIVORCEMENT (Two)
Adam looked at her and said, “Your name shall be Eve.”

2) You cannot tamper with what God has joined together. Jesus taught that, “Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” in Matthew 19:6. For God is always looking at the bigger picture when it comes to man’s activities, divorce has no place whatsoever in His established institution. Adam thought not, even for a fraction of a second, of the possibility of separation when his wife made him lose his lordship of the entire world. As God’s oracle, Adam knew what marriage was. Rather than throw her away when her act plunged them into sinfulness, Adam looked at her and said, “Your name shall be Eve.” Why? Because he knew she was the mother of all living, from whose womb will come the Incarnation. Hallelujah! David’s mind perturbing marriage to Bathsheba notwithstanding, God did not send Nathan, the royal prophet, to tell them of the dissolution of their union like He sent John the Baptist to King Herod. The big picture is the emergence of Solomon, the king after David, whose reign would emblematize the millennial Kingdom of Jesus, the Second Member of the Godhead.
Adultery is idolatrous
Why would the Lord suffer a dissolution of a marriage on the charge of adultery? Adultery is apostatical. Adultery is idolatrous; it is a wicked proclivity of Satanism. God, through the prophetic office of Moses, warned Israel never to worship any other god, save Jehovah. It is clear from the Book of Exodus 34:14-15, “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: 15) Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;” that going after other gods of idolatry is the same as prostitution. It says in Hosea 9:1 “Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.” The word ‘reward’ is the Hebrew ‘ethnan (eth-nan’): ‘an inducement wage (as the price of harlotry or idolatry).’ In Hebraic grammar ‘ethnan is a masculine noun. The ‘reward’ accruable on every ‘cornfloor’ is the opium that prolonged their idolatrous practice. While the ‘ethnan is a representation of spiritual husband behind the idolatry, every cornfloor is the shrine of idolatry.
The act of worship gives a picture of conjugation, where the worshipper is seen as the wife, and the worshipped entity is the husband. When one engages in sexual activity with someone who is not one’s spouse, it is seen in the Scriptural court of legality as an adulterous sinfulness. Going away from the LORD God to fall down in the latria before an idol is outright whoredom. This is why God hates adultery and suffers it to be the ground of divorce. Adultery can only be induced through the tampering of Satanism. The word ‘cornfloor’, another noun masculine, of Hosea 9:1 is goren (go’-ren): ‘1. a threshing- floor (as made even). 2. (by analogy) any open area.’ The definitional ‘open area’ of goren points to the proclivious vagabondism of idolatrous harlotry. Worsened developments attract evil acts.
The ultimate marriage is divorce-proof
The wife beater has derailed. That husband continues to scoff at God’s injunction of “Husbands, love thine wives.” His acts insult the marriage institution of the LORD God, thereby becoming unfit for the conjugal cohabitation. The seditiousness of a wife is not different from the derailed man; her decision not to submit, according to the Bible, is a product of stubbornness. The truth concerning this marital setup is that divorce should be the last resort after the longest rope of patience runs to its hopeless tip. God sent Prophet Samuel to give this message to King Saul in 1Samuel 15:23 “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” Can one decide to enter into adulterous relationship with Satan and justifiably remain the bride of the LORD God of the Bible? Selah!
The biggest picture is the ultimate wedding between the Lamb and the redeemed Church. This union is divorce-proof for the facticity of the finished work on the Golgotha sanguineous cross. Why should there arise any thought of divorce when there is an apparent due taking into cognizance of the husband’s true love and the wife is found in true submission? The inclination will have its base not on God’s protocolary documentation. Marriage is not a game; it is God’s most serious business. Through marriage He expressed His divine love that results in a costly soteriological course. The redeemed souls of the Lamb’s espousal are the ones who worship the LORD God in truth and in Spirit. They have received Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Of these ones is the Scriptural “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” God will not divorce His precious body of “them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:” of Jude 1:1. Amen.
You can be part of the Divine conjugal bliss by being born again. Say this prayer from your heart, believing every word.
Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins and You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I receive Him as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory, Amen.
