3)            Some marriages do not mirror the vision and will of God, so, they are billed to hit the rocks. It is quite unlike the marriage between the pristine parents who were made in the likeness and image of God. Adam the Male and the Female worshipped the same Jehovah God, their Maker. Isaiah 54:5 “For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” God was first espoused to us before extending the institution to the Adamic creature. This marriage is everlasting.

Quite understood is the fact that no two people aspiring to marry must be guilty of spiritual incongruity. God intended to raise a holy nation through Israel, so, God’s Mosaic command to Israel as she was about to enter into the Promised Land is: “Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. 4) For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly” (Deuteronomy 7:3-4).

Whatever should not take place, as far as this type of marriage is concerned, should suffer annulment. If the divine reason for telling them not to marry strange people to the Israel of Jehovah is: “For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods:” is the most reasonable thing not the termination of the ill-fated conjugation in order to avoid “so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.” In recalling the commandment of God to the Israelites when they were about to enter the Canaanitish land the priest, whose name is the same writer of the historical Book of Ezra, said in chapter 9 verse 12, “Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.” The whole verses of the next chapter is centred on the defeasance of marriages that run contrary to the wish of the LORD God.

After Ezra’s jeremiad against Israel’s unholy marriages we read: “And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel” (Ezra 10:10). They had no choice but to do the pleasing needful. “And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass” (10:19). Terrible things are to be expected when one remains bent on a persistence in one’s wrong doing. A wrong spouse is like a one sent on a mission of Satanism. Can it ever be righteous?

Jezebel, who ministered Baalism to Israel, was the queen of Israel. She had children for Ahab, the king. We find this in the Book of 1Kings 16:31, “And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.” The Bible records that the various unrighteous sins of Ahab put together weighed very light compared to the king’s marriage to Jezebel, the Zidonian princess and priestess of Astarte and Baal. That marriage, a goading of Satanism, made to run side by side of true Jehovah worship, destroyed the surviving family of Ahab. 2Kings 10:7 “And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.” Not only Ahab’s seventy sons: “So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining” (2Kings 10:11). Wrong marriages are entrapment of Satanism. Jehu killed all Baal priests that ministered idolatry through Jezebel.

2Kings 10:24-26 “And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him. 25) And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal. 26) And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.”

You can be part of the Divine conjugal bliss by being born again. Say this prayer from your heart, believing every word.
