Spiritual Quiddity Of Jesus Christ (3)

Even the Son of man which is in heaven
(Continued from the 2nd part)
3) Who is this “Son of man which is in heaven”? If one needs further revelation of Who this One is, we have to search further in the Scriptures. It happened on one of Pharisaical days of unguarded accusations of the Lord’s deeds. They condemned Jesus and His followers’ sacrilegious act of plucking corn on a Sabbath day. Unfortunately, too drowned in impermeability of their Judaism, they could not see the Grace of God that has appeared onto all men, when Jesus revealed the Personage of John 3:13 in Matthew 12:6-8 6) “But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. 7) But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. 8) For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.”
Let us do some fact checking of Who this Sabbath Lord is. Genesis 2:3 “And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” God came down to Israel to speak directly into their ears of the Ten Commandments and the fourth is “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy” (Exodus 20:8). Now, standing before Pharisees the same way He had gathered Israel in the wilderness, Jesus told them, “You are beholding the Adonai of Sabbath day and you are not afraid to confront Him with breaking the law of the day of My rest.” Tell me whether these revelations do not articulate the facticity that Jesus is very God of very God. Selah!

The Adonai of Sabbath, Jesus, our Rest.
I do not know how Dr. Abel Damina, who teaches and has a whole lot of adherents, reads John 10:30 “I and my Father are one.” Does this unnecessary-controversy-loving pastor interpret the “oneness” of this rhema as “agreement in thoughts” between the Father and the Son only? If that is the only interpretation he sees of this verse contextually then Dr. Abel Damina has forgotten to study the last word ‘one’ which comes from the Greek word heis (hice): ‘numeral one; essence.’ The Father and the Son, according to revealed Scripture, having the same essence destroys Damina’s adherence to Sabellianism which teaches that there is only one Person in the Godhead.
Sabellius, a third century Roman, shared a semblant Modalistic monarchianism (or Modalism) belief which considers God to be one, who appears and works through the different “modes” or “faces” of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In Monarchianism, “the Father and Son were different expressions of the same being, without any personal distinctions between them. In other words, the Father is himself the Son, and therefore experiences the Son’s human frailties. Heis of Greek description means that the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit have an equal essence of ubiquity, almightiness and absolute knowledge. Any person with these unimaginable attributes cannot be a created being.

You cannot think outside the box of the Bible
Dr. Damina asseverates that God can discard the Father, Son and Holy Spirit if He wishes to. Phew! Unbelievable. Grossly unscriptural, I must state. Sabellianism of Damina’s romantic bent is alien to Scriptural revelation. The truth is that there are several millions of Abel Damina who think it wise to motivate-think their minds outside the box when they read the Bible. You cannot think outside the box of the Bible. Only the satanic mind of the Antichrist works thus. It is to your own peril to think outside the Book of God. When it comes to the Bible, it is the only available box! You follow very strictly the Word of the Logos of Scripture or you end up shipwrecked: spiritually. It is written, “Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left” (Joshua 23:6); because refusal to remain amidst the tenets of God’s mind makes one takes the disastrous stand of God’s enemy. When Jesus made the asseverative, “I and Father are one,” the scriptural understanding goes beyond the Christ and the Father having the same mind of thought, the big Scriptural deal here is that the Members of the Godhead are of the same essence. This is my question, is this Father in this verse, according to Sabellius, the One true God or one of the three faces of Sabellianism? But, trust people like Damina, they will always have something out of the box to romanticise scriptural didacticism. When you lack the Bible knowledge of Jesus you become a perishing entity, spiritually.
Jesus asked His Jewish disciples who people thought He was: for He was the expected One. As they gave hearsay answers 15) “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:15-16). The title ‘Son’ is the Greek uihos (hwee-os’), the highest of five Greek forms of sonship (brephos – baby; nēpios – non talking toddler; paidion – immature child; teknon – generic term for a child; uihos – matured representative of father anywhere).

Get born again by saying this simple prayer.
“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
