What Does It Connote To Make God Happy? (2)

Christians are most favoured
(…continues from part 1…)
2) Of the favoured Christian is the Scriptural, 1John 3:22-23 22) “And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 23) And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” A good Christian will not forget God’s first instructions to the newly created Adam. Genesis 2:15 “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” ‛Âbad (aw-bad’) is the Hebrew word for ‘dress’ and it has the definition of: ‘to work, serve, till’. The Eden Garden is God’s house on earth, in which He placed Adam. God’s house is a place of worship. Spiritually, a Christian should not just attend Church services he must find something to do in one of the departments of its administration. This is where we speak of Labour of Love: in God’s House. The consistency of departmental voluntary work is so pleasing to God. The next instruction, ‘keep’, is shâmar (shaw-mar’):‘properly to hedge about (as with thorns), that is, guard; generally to protect, attend to, etc.’ A Christian has covenant relationship with his Jehovah. So that we will not be found wanting spiritually, God keeps His Word in our hearts. Those words must be protected by proper and effective meditation on them to engender fructification. We guard God’s word by doing what it says and making sure we teach the truth of it to others.

We receive rewards for doing the ‘dress’ and ‘keep’.
Jesus went all the way back to Genesis 2:15 when He chose the twelve apostles, to dress His word and to keep it. Adam was not the first to dress and keep. The LORD God had been doing that long before creationism. Lucifer refused to dress and to keep it and lost his empyrean estate. Man, through Adam and his Woman, failed to dress and to keep the Word of God, when the tempter came. God decided to lead by example, à la the Incarnation, to actuate Immanuel. Jesus Christ showed the Apostles how to dress and to keep the Word. The Apostles taught the same to Christianity.
As many as would follow the footsteps of Jesus received, from God, the accolade “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” (Matthew 25:21). Successfully, the dressers and keepers of the Word have made God happy. This is what happens when you make God happy; it is found in 1Corinthians 3:14 “If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.” The word ‘abide’ is the Greek menō (men’-o): ‘to remain, to stay stand fast.” Sincerity of dressing and keeping is when one builds upon the foundation, not with hay, wood or stubble, but with gold, silver and precious stones: for Jesus Christ is the foundation. Rewards are proportionate to how you have dressed and kept the things that concern the Creator. The reward is handed out by the Majesty on the celestial throne. There is no way the celestial King will promote you in heaven and it will not advance your hierarchy. The rewards are eternal for the Hand of eternality has stretched forth for your promotion. God is happy with you, so, you will remain in that high hierarchy for ever.

Jesus Christ is our perfect Example
Our perfect Example, Christ is the One on Whom we build or dress and keep. Making nonsense of the Word of God is likened to the use of stupid materials like hay, wood or stubble to build. These will not excite the Holy Spirit’s ministration to the worker in the Lord’s vineyard. The word ‘precious’, timios (tim’-ee-os), has the definition: ‘as of great price, held in honour, esteemed, especially dear.’ The whole truth here is that true sincerityof evangelical purpose is as constantly standing, like the soldier of immense patriotism, in the battlefield. Having fought the good fight, the material gold, silver or precious stones, when put to the fire test, he is holding a thoroughly purified object of his victory. The joy you put in God’s heart dances over and over on the Divine mug of the Father; the Father looks at the Son, He catches the Divine fun; He places it on the visage of the Holy Spirit’s. Of eternality is the jocundity that our sincere dressing and keeping of His Word present to the Most High. Selah!

Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. You were born in sin. Say this sinner’s prayer.
“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
