4)            At the traditional son-placing ritual called uihothesia (hwee-oth-es-ee’-ah): ‘adoption as son;’ the uihos, customarily, is equal in status to the father, who performs the son-placing. This uihos description of His relationship with God the Father, needling the Jews’ proclivous spiritual irascibility, they were ready to stone Jesus to death. They understood what uihos stood to mean spiritually, accounting for John 5:18 “Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.” The most horrendous mistake anyone can be found nursing is to see Him in the darkness of Pharisaical understanding of, “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him” (Mark 6:3).

Paul was led by the Spirit of God to teach Jesus’ almighty knowledge in Colossians 2:3, “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” No religious leader is and will ever be this endowed. To have all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Him clearly gives Jesus what is not expected of a being of creation: Omniscience.

Uihothesia, the biblical son-placing.

What meanest it that: “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32) And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33) And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left” (Matthew 25:31-33): for it says of Jesus, “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” in Matthew 25:34? He is the King of kings, LORD of lords; the righteous Judge in heaven. He is the Almighty Who created à la ex nihilo. All things belong to Him.

Colossians 1:16 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:” which leaves one in no smidgeon of doubt Who Jesus Christ is; nor could there possibly be a more explicit declaration that the universe was created by Christ than this. And this is not all, the next verse gives the picture of the Consummator of creationism. Colossians 1:17 “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” The original couch for the word ‘consist’ is sunistaō (soon-is-tah’-o): ‘to set together, combine, associate, unite, band together, organise, frame, to hold together, continue.’

Let me help blow your mind with what sunistaō betokens. You throw a seed into the ground and after three days, from the rottenness of it sprouts a germination. The male seed finds its way into the female and in the course of time the matrix produces an offspring. What causes the seas not to dry? Have you ever thought of the power behind the rotation of our earth on its axis, and the uncanny planetary orbit of the solar system? 2Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” Jesus is the only begotten of the Father. There is absolutely none like Him. The word ‘only begotten’ is not of natural procreation. It is not, as Arians have posited, gennaō (ghen-nah’-o): ‘of men who fathered children; to be born; to be begotten; of women giving birth to children.’ It is monogenēs (mon-og-en-ace’): ‘single of its kind; used of Christ, denotes the only begotten son of God.’ Monogenēs comes from monos (mon’-os): ‘alone, sole or single;’ and ginomai (ghin’-om-ahee): ‘to come into existence, begin to be, receive being.’

The singleness of His earthly partaking of humanity can be properly explained through the doctrine of the Hypostatic Union which is of two distinct natures in one Person: hypostatically. The hypostatic union speaks of two distinct natures and persons by one spirit: mystically. In the mystical hypostatic union of Christ and Jesus, they did not enjoy homogeneity as the Three Persons in the Godhead are united.

Then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory Matthew 25:31

They, in the Godhead, have but one and the same essence and will; but in Jesus Christ there are two essences and wills. Christ is essentially the Word, Whose goings forth has been from of old, from eternity. Jesus began His existence in the matrix of Mary. The humanity of Immanuel did everything to remain sinless all the thirty-three and half years, successfully aligning His will with the Christ’s. Jesus is the only One Who never committed one single sin while on earth. At the end of His soteriological sojourn on terra firma the Jesus, born of Mary, is now divinely fused together with the Christ – the most astounding conundrum – no longer possessing two wills and natures, but one indivisible Entity: King of kings, LORD God of all lords, seated on the celestial throne from eternity to eternity. Amen.

Get born again by saying this simple prayer.

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
