From Hebraic etymological understanding shaddai stands for mountain or breast, hence, Shaddai is ‘the many breasted One’, very rich in substances and possessing the capability to feed, sustain and meet all desires of every need and want. Almighty has ten occurrences in the New Testament. Seven times as “Almighty;” once as “the Almighty;” once as “of Almighty,” and once as “omnipotent.” All the New Testamentary occurrences point to God alone. Why would the risen Jesus, “whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting;” apply to Himself “the Almighty” epithet of Divinity? It is simply because He has the same divine essence of His Father and of the Holy Spirit. Is Jesus Christ not the “Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of peace, on whose shoulder holds the eternality of universal government?
