“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”: 1Peter 2:9. The verse begins with ‘but’, which in Greek is: de (deh): a primary particle (adversative or continuative) meaning: ‘but, moreover, and, etc.’ This definition shows that it is a continuation of a discourse. Who are the object of the discourse? They are the ones of verse 7 allusion, “Unto you therefore which believe he is precious”; of whom the fifth verse pens, “also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house”, and they are those who have “tasted that the Lord is gracious” in verse three. These were first mentioned in 1Peter 1:2, “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ”.

                Peter says they are ‘chosen’, eklektos (ek-lek-tos’): ‘picked out, chosen, select’. You know how you take your time, knowing fully well you have all of it, when purchasing foodstuffs with none competing, being the first and earliest in arrival and you want to pick the very best? So did God, by the reason of being able to wield a faculty of His, called foreknowledge, took time, looking into the future of the offspring of Adam, He selected those who would make Him a very proud Creator. God chose the ones who would make Jesus their lifestyle, who would walk the righteous walk side by side His holy strides. These chosen ones are so special that God will never allow them into another’s hand. Another hand is a waster. God does not waste any property. Amen.

The chosen constitute a ‘generation’ genos (ghen’-os) Thayer Definition: ‘1. kindred a. offspring b. family c. stock, tribe, nation 1. i.e. nationality or descent from a particular people d. the aggregate of many individuals of the same nature, kind, sort’. Strong’s Definition: “kin” (abstractly or concretely, literally or figuratively, individually or collectively). This genos comes from ginomai (ghin’-om-ahee) Thayer Definition: ‘to become, i.e. to come into existence, begin to be, receive being’. The born again Christian is so unique, specifically positioned in a distinguished state of existence: to bring full pleasure to the Majesty on high. Many are the Christians who just do not see the very closely knitted kinship existing between us and the High and Lofty, LORD God. Why did He command man to “Be fruitful, and multiply”, Genesis 1:22? One day, He knew, they will be the most precious intelligent beings to adorn the heaven and, especially, the earth.

Why, do you think God chose Israel? It was basically to adumbrate the emergence of one of God’s well-guarded secret: the Church. Israel means ‘a prince by the side of God’. ‘Royal’ is basileios (bas-il’-i-os): ‘royal, kingly, regal’. And basileios originates from basileus (bas-il-yooce’): ‘leader of the people, prince, commander, lord of the land, king’, which is probably from basis (bas’-ece): ‘1. a stepping, walking 2. that with which one steps, the foot’. Our royal footing has a heavenly insurance policy covering it. We are, by divine decree, the lords of the terra firma. It looks too, fairy-like, good to be true. Nevertheless, it is very true! The Bible says in Psalm 115:16, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men”. The earth is where the action is, and the chosen ones own it by divine donative decree. If there are any activities going on in any other planet, it can only be that of the illicitness of demonism. Next time you hear of aliens – it is only a euphemism – demonism is actually meant.

Hierateuma (hee-er-at’-yoo-mah) is the Greek word for ‘priesthood’, which has the definitions: ‘1. the office of a priest 2. the priestly fraternity, that is, a sacerdotal order (figuratively)’. The first earthly priest was no other than the first man, Adam. When Cain was thrust into the vagrant flight, engendered by sin, he set up an order of esotericism. Satan has always been a copycat. The sacerdotal order of the chosen ones is God ordained. The policy of governance may, by virtue of civic plebiscite, be the preserve of voted politicians but the dimension of the prophetic utterance, the spiritual stability of a nation is owned by the chosen ones. Alienation of the chosen ones is the bane of universal socio-politico turmoil. The chosen stands in the spiritual gap to enable the Creator’s positive participation. No priesthood means no God. Satan knew that God would have nothing to do with Cain’s city of Enoch (which means ‘initiate’) so, it was demonically apropos for Cain to raise priests of the occult.
