PROBATION [six]
(…continues from part five…)
6) Petrine corroboration reads, “Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23) Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” (1Peter 2:22-24). This is Pauline exegetic call to excellence. Hebrews 12:1-3 1) “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3) For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”
We need to understand the alpha and omega of probation. It is to bring intelligent beings of God’s creation in alignment with His interest. Devoid of any scintilla of coercion, God wants us to use our free moral agency to do His will absolutely and never doubting the LORD God. Probation of the intelligent beings of creation is actually a blessing in disguise in that those who pass the trials have not only judged Lucifer for failing the obedience test, they stand to enjoy the glorious crowning culmination of the quiddity of divine probation. They will sit beside the Creator in the throne room of the Rainbow Administration of the celestial assizes. This had been the desideration of Lucifer, which he thought could be acquired with cunning forcefulness.
He failed woefully trying to earn it. What he lost, God would give to those who satisfy Divine gaze into human probation free of charge. Let me show you how I know that we will sit beside God, in heaven. John 14:2-3 2) “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” The noun ‘house’ is oikia (oy-kee’-ah): ‘properly residence (abstractly), but usually (concretely) an abode (literally or figuratively); by implication a family (especially domestics).’ What is ‘mansions’? It is monē (mon-ay’): ‘a staying, that is, residence (the act or the place); a stopping place; station.’ The ‘house’ cannot be a concrete building, it is the abstraction of ‘home’ or ‘family’. The first family in heaven is the Trinity; by extension the angels, then it has an inclusion of the mystical union called the body of Christ, otherwise known as the Church or Christians, for better emphasis. The ‘mansion’ here is not the academic understanding of a huge, palatial edifice. Monē is simply where a person is found.
Let us look at ‘place’; it is topos (top’-os): ‘a spot, space or room; figuratively condition, opportunity; specifically a scabbard.’ Generally topos is space, but limited by occupancy; Jesus did not use a different chōra (kho’-rah): a word which means ‘the space lying between two places or limits which is a larger but particular locality), that is, location: district, town or country.’ What Jesus means by this promise is that, “In My Father’s home or family (house) there are many staying places (mansions). From these places I will prepare a spot (place) for you, so that where I am there ye may be also.” The eternal mind of God purposed that every probational success shall be privileged with celestial VIP, made better than the estate of all angels. An earlier actuation of this reality is found in Genesis 32:28-30 28) “And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. 29) And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. 30) And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”
The Hebraic name for Israel is Yiśrâ’êl (yis-raw-ale’): ‘God prevails; he will rule as God;’ which comes from two words: Śârâh (saw-raw’): ‘contend, to prevail: have power (as a prince);’ and ‘êl (ale): ‘strength; as adjective mighty; especially the Almighty’. Israel implies ‘he will rule by the side of God. There is the physical Israel (the people of its geographical occupation) and there is the spiritual Israel (Christianity). The physical Israel lives in the flesh and the law. The spiritual Israel is the restored species of mankind, whose sins have been forgiven, discharged and acquitted, the born again Christian. The day one gets born again marks the end of his probation.
This is the HOUSEHOLD of GOD CHURCH, where the walk with God is perfected.
Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. You were born in sin. Say this sinner’s prayer.
“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
