The Lion of Judah (One)

1)            What could be rising in the mindset of Adamic understanding is contradistinctive focus on Jesus being both the Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah. The same mind strays off the facticity that this same Personage is the Rose of Sharon; the Lily of the valley; the Wonderful and Counsellor to the Godhead and at the same time the Everlasting Father. What the abecedarian in Scriptural understanding apprehends is the negativity attached to polar and not the charging workability involvement of polarity. It takes nonpareil power to enable workability of amalgamation the of two opposite offices. For the soteriological sake of Adam’s regeneration, is there any thing too hard for God’s achievement?

This Lamby phenomenon, a foregone conclusion in the Godhead calendar, must come into place the minute the original sin waded ominously into the Eden Garden. Twice the Lamby prospect received its citadel of institutionalism on the terra firma. Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” There is no way that this vatic Seed of the Woman could be heel-bruised as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah: it must be the Almighty Lamby’s prodigious demureness in His substitutionary death goal of redemption for Adam, made in the image and likeness of Word, that must have accounted for His participation in Adamic flesh. Genesis 3:21 “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” The Hebrew ‛ôr (ore) is the English ‘skins,’ meaning: ‘skin (as naked); by implication hide, leather.’

In covering the sinners, God provided them with righteousness leading to temporary salvation. Remember He told Cain, “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him” (Genesis 4:7). The two words ‘sin’ and ‘lieth’ form the key for proper understanding the term of salvation. While ‘sin’ is chaṭṭâ’âh (khat-taw-aw’): ‘sin offering; condition of sin, guilt of sin, punishment for sin; purification from sins of ceremonial uncleanness;’ the other word ‘lieth’ is râbats (raw-bats’): ‘to crouch (on all four legs folded, like a recumbent animal); by implication to recline, repose.’ This is what God wants – sin offering: using a recumbent animal e.g. lamb – to receive forgiveness of sin. Cain’s unfortunate, spiritual rejection was Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world. This Lamb had been slain before the foundation of the world. Christ must stoop low to assume the humble posture of the prophet unknown to His people whom He had come to save. For the sake of salvation, Jesus became the Lamb for the substitutionary death: the Just for the unjust. Selah!

A spiritual consummation of the Lamb is inevitable for proper consanguinity with Him. He must be humble to give up His blood. Twice was the Eden sanguinary act. The first was in Genesis 2:22 “And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” Pastor Adeboye’s eulogy of God, saying, “God is the One Who carries out clinical surgery without dropping blood,” contextually, is anomalous with the Scripture. It was inevitable cruciality for blood to drop. Adam’s untainted blood must be deposited before the occurrence of the original sin. Adam’s prefiguration of Jesus, the Husband of the Church, must go through the process of following the Scriptural pattern of blood shedding of the establishment of the Church: which the Woman of Eden represents in Scripture.

The second time blood was shed is found in Genesis 3:21: for you cannot skin animals without shedding blood. Two, being the number of testimony and of witness, cruciality of the blood of the Lamb cannot be over emphasized. The second blood shed that prolonged the lives of the first couple did a reappearance on Mount Moriah. Genesis 22:13 “Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.” Historical eventuality made Divine surety that Mount Moriah was the same place of the Golgotha sanguinary sacrifice, the global saving grace. The same blood must grace the doorposts of Exodus 12:5-13 5) “Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 12:7) And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 12:13) And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” How does Jesus follow the pattern of “lamb shall be without blemish”? It says, 2Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Also, Jesus said, “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” (John 14:30).
