SPIRITUAL VAGABONDISM (Three)

3)            Does the Bible not instruct, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it” (Ephesians 5:25)? The word ‘love’ is agapaō (ag-ap-ah’-o) which comes from its noun form agapē (ag-ah’-pay): ‘affection, good will, benevolence specifically (plural) a love feast.’ This tells the Christian husband that he is the priest of his home, where he is the head is a Church, and that in representative capacity of Jesus Christ, our Lord. The love duty is sacrosanct. The whole truth about this agapaō is that contrary to popular understanding, is not a feeling. Of course, it produces carnal ecstasy, but in essence, agapē is absolutely a commitment, as far as God’s institution of marriage is concerned. The man’s inability or unwillingness to forgive his wife is a spiritual derangement, leading to vagrancy.

The Bible says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). The Greek word for ‘love’ is agapē, God’s kind of love that saved us from our sinful nature. God did not wait till we got it right with Him before swinging into His peculiar love action before performing the Golgotha phenomenality. While we were still reeking of Satan’s designed sinfulness, the Bible says, “Christ died for us.” Love is not a feeling; it is a commitment. For the husband’s companion, it says, “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord” (Colossians 3:18). This subjection is absolutely appropriate as it is in acknowledgment of the order established by God. ‘It is fit’ is one Greek word anēkō (an-ay’-ko) meaning: ‘be proper.’

The wife’s submission is a proper thing in the sight of the Lord we serve. The word ‘submit’ is hupotassō (hoop-ot-as’-so): ‘to subordinate; reflexively to obey.’ This Greek word comes from hupo (hoop-o’): ‘by, under’; and tassō (tas’-so): ‘to arrange in an orderly manner, that is, assign or dispose (to a certain position or lot).’ This is, therefore, what is fit in the Lord: the wife is to show submission to her husband by first arranging herself, then package herself under her husband. If it sounds subservient or akin to slavery then you are allowing the wisdom of this world of corruption to dominate your thinking against the word of God.

Is the Woman not the first to commit the original sin? God, making sure the wife does not think highly of herself: for she was the first to taste of Satan’s wicked wisdom, believing herself to be wiser! There is order in God’s institution. For the woman, the best thing I will admonish is never to marry someone who has no wisdom. Marrying a stupid person is to be lorded by stupidity all the days of married life. Good leadership is of great essence in our social life. Very political is the derivative notion of Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” The word ‘authority’ is what many do not seem to apprehend well enough. It is the Hebrew râbâh (raw-baw’): ‘to increase (in whatever respect) i.e. in number, riches, political power.’

Let me show you another Scripture to corroborate the true Solomonic meaning of ‘authority’ of Proverbs 29:2, found in Proverbs 22:16 “He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.” The Hebrew word for ‘increase’ is the same râbâh. The Hebraic word for ‘righteous’ in Proverbs 29:2 is tsaddı̂yq (tsad-deek’): ‘lawful, just, righteous (in government).’ So, what do we gain from this Divine wisdom? Plenty. When the law-abiding people abound in riches the hoi polloi rejoice.

When the just in heart gain political power the state treasury will be utilized to cater for the less privileged. When the righteous people increase in number the good justice of the hoi polloi prayer prevails in the land. When Godly people increase in affluence and governmental strength there will be hallelujah lyrical dance and parties in adoration of the Most High. The reversal, unfortunately, is what obtains in the land when the righteous are kept in abeyance. The word ‘wicked’ in Proverbs 29:2 is râshâ‛ (raw-shaw’): ‘criminal, (hostile to God); morally wrong; concretely an (actively) bad person.’ The next words, ‘beareth rule’ is mâshal (maw-shal’): ‘to have dominion, to exercise dominion.’ The Bible says that when the wicked ‘beareth rule’, the ‘people’ which in Hebrew is ‛am (am) meaning: ‘a people (as a congregated unit); nation, country-men;’ they will ‘mourn’ which is ‘ânach (aw-nakh’): ‘sigh, groan (in pain or grief), gasp.’

How can it not be an act of criminality of wickedness when fellow countrymen must decide to appropriate the commonwealth of the nation into their personal use, leaving the hoi polloi groaning in poverty? Various governmental institutions of the world are neck deep in Satanism. This phenomenal facticity sets them in hostility against God, plunging the political leaders in spiritual vagabondism. The true reason behind nation’s disobedience to God’s commandment is not farfetched, Satan is called the god of this world. Selah!

Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. Say this sinner’s prayer.
