"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace". Is it not because there is a clear difference between 'child' and 'son'? The child is the incarnation of the Eternal Son. The 'child' is the humanity of Him while the 'son' is His Deity, (it can only be given): this is the hypostatic union.
