Nebuchadnezzar

DANIEL CHAPTER THREE (Part 5)

The three teenage Jews were rather afraid of losing face with the LORD, their God. When you walk the faith walk with the LORD, it translates to spiritual maturity, awakening a true sense knowledge of the Most High Jehovah. Yoruba proverb says, “Ojú t’ó r’ókun, t’ó r’ósà, kò lè bèrù omí kéékèké” literally meaning “The eye that has beheld the ocean and big lagoon will not be afraid of small streams.” The knowledge of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego of the Eternal God of Israel was so profound that they were very contented with whatever He decided to do with their stand as they remained standing before the dreaded king Nebuchadnezzar. Cast your lots with the LORD God, with Whom alone one can put all eggs in one basket and none will be lost. An explicit unalloyed faith in the LORD God is most profitable as the Bible reveals in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” The faith of very young Jews humbled king Nebuchadnezzar, who had no choice but to promote them. They were elevated above their detractors. They became epistles to be read. Their exploits attracted others to follow the true Saviour, Jesus Christ. Nebuchadnezzar chose to tread upon the route of religious persecution. He did not know that it was a terrible choice to dragoon the sworn children of Israel into his idolatrous dream. The LORD our God is a responsible Father; He is the Man of war. He will never allow his children to be consumed. God did not put the idolatrous sculpture of the sixty-cubit high idol of gold into the head of the king of Babylon. It was his choice. The choice met with a resistance based on the faith in the LORD God. And that set the stage for Jehovah’s intervention. Walk the path of His righteousness and you will never be ashamed. Amen.Read More

Nebuchadnezzar behaved true to a blind religious fanatic totally suffering from power inebriation. An enraged Nebuchadnezzar was terribly splenetic when three teenage Jews refused to worship the image of his invention. The joint faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego invoked the LORD God of Israel to see to their predicament. They knew God was bigger than all mankind’s problems. They remembered that the LORD God of the Bible had promised, “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Deuteronomy 31:6). The three Jewish youths, even though they had been stripped, so to speak, of their Jehovah connected Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; and clothed with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego of Babylonian idolatry, they did not forget Jehovah, their Elohyim. It was germane that the LORD God, seeing the faith of those who have refused to be guiltless of the tenet of Genesis 2:16-17, should cover them with His Divine protectionism. There always will be problems. When they show up, never forget to do Hebrews 12:2. When one exercises true faith, devoid of any scintilla of pretence, in the written Word of the Bible, and the said person does not waver in faith, the LORD God of the Bible will rise to the salvation of the wielder of faith in God, the Creator. He will be so happy to create everything needed to ensure the good testimony of the one who has shown faith in Him, the LORD God, Whom he had not, for once, seen in Person but only in His revealed Word. One may ask, “So, how does God operate?” From eternity past, the LORD God had seen everything that will take place in the future, even unto the realm of future eternality. He knows what is to become of everyone and everything. He knew what each person will get himself into. Free moral agency never comes without Divine protectionism. With the enemy of Jehovah around every human activity, the temptation of floating in colossal blunder when one gets tipsy with power is quite easy. The enemy of goodness barges ferociously into your mind, filling it with the wine of Satanism. The minute one decides to jettison the salubrious intent of God’s Word, the Devil takes up a tenancy in one’s psychical essence as the new counsellor: he has come to steal, kill and destroy. Lucifer mendaciously presented the human power of choice to Nebuchadnezzar. “You see, you can do whatever you want. You can be a worshipped god,” Satan smoothly intoned into the surrendered mind of the king of Babylon. The enemy advised him to begin his deification with the object of Daniel 3:1. How so easy it is for Lucifer to introduce an establishment of a religious movement. Satan will desire a filling of his void to control the moral agency of his remaining walking cadaver years. God would not give up His most important object of creation, in whom He had invested the Image of His essence. A choice, from the Divinity, has been presented to Adamic free moral agency, either to remain in the guiding Light or tread the path of destructive darkness of Satanism. Like Cain, Nebuchadnezzar chose to listen to Satan.Read More
