The good Noah opened his heart for an evil in-road (Genesis 9:20-25), and the result reopened the wound of satanic influence. It was Nimrod’s turn who accepted to tow the line of the games. The love of God meant nothing to him so he went on to form a global religion of which he emerged as one of the deified trinity (Nimrod, Tammuz and Semiramis) of the Babylonian worship. Father Abraham listened to the old dragon and he thought he was the one being smart when he said, “Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon: 12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. 13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee”; Genesis 12:11-13.

The truth about this mind game is thus. Any time Satan wants to use you to do his evil deeds he comes into your mind and he does a playback of what he had recorded, fine tuning the voice to sound exactly like your very own. He is a master deceiver. You will believe that it is the ingenuity of your reasoning that you are hatching, not knowing that your thinking faculty has been hijacked. This is the game Lucifer had always enjoyed playing on our intelligence – from Adam to Abraham even unto this day. The game sharpened Isaac’s palate so much as to get him to swap Jacob’s blessing; while Esau went so wide off tangent, depicted by his retaliatory choice of connubiality.

Joseph’s brothers. A game of jealousy was run to its full course in their minds. They were numbered ten (which is the number of trials). This shows that his games are actually trials of our faith, serving to measure our level of steadfastness to God’s word. They played the game and failed. Moses, in Numbers 20:8-12, allowed himself to feel like God –wrong game –trying to corner what belongs to the Most High. Aaron and his elder sister, Miriam were likewise guilty of playing the devil’s game (Numbers 12:1-15) in that they did not accord Moses his rightful leadership.

Samson gave himself up to play the game of fornication. Satan knows which button to press to get anybody wriggling in erotic ecstasy. When you know the rules, like Samson, and you decide to heed ungodly calls, you are running your life to destruction. This was what Samson obstinately did. Our enemy is an orgiastic animal. This same frenetic opium he makes sure he pours forth into those who play his game. Hophni and his brother Phinehas could not manage the power of the deadly opium of cupidity that Satan had shot into their minds (1Samuel 2:12-17). Hophni {comes from the root word chophen (kho’-fen) ‘a fist (only in the dual)’} is rendered Chophniy (khof-nee’) in Hebrew and means ‘pugilist’. This no doubt accounted for his brutishness. Phinehas or the Hebraic ‘Piynchac’ (pee-nekh-aws’) means: ‘mouth of a serpent’. The two of them behaved very much like the old serpent, did they not (1Sam. 2:22-25)? Satan certainly knows where to attack every individual. He knows us inside out. The fiendish priests harkened not the instructions of God. They played games of darkness. They perished! 1Samuel 4:11.

You will think that any saint close to God will scare Lucifer but they are his sworn targets. To David, a beloved of Jehovah, Satan threw his dice of deceitful game. David had more than a fair share of women to enable him to reject being mesmerized into the mind game of promiscuity. Well, how could David (whose name means ‘beloved’) not succumb to adultery when he had chosen to love polygamy as well? The one who made you fall yesterday should not drop a trickle of sweat in another bid to disgrace you today and tomorrow. The same way the serpent mesmerized our pristine mother to see a good thing in an evil venture so, he goaded David, mentally, to see and to enjoy the softness of the flesh of variety of women. David was only on queue for the next assignment. Little did David know where that adventurous game of many women was leading him. David of all people soiled his personality not only with adultery but with quite an unthinkable murder! Keep clear of satanic games!

He was and is still adjudged the wisest of all human. Of utmost truth is the scripture which apprises, “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall” [1Corinthians 10:12]. Like many who delve into these games, Solomon was lured into spiritual prostitution when he, first of all, married a whopping one whole thousand wives; then funded the erection of their demonic shrines and the third and worst of all, Solomon visited the shrines of the enemy of God to pay homage to Satan, whose intention all along was to evil-tune the minds of the unwary to suit his caprices. The evil makes sure you are kept far away from God’s word when he introduces the game. One thing his ingenuity gets him do is never to let you know that he has come to steal, kill and destroy you with his game plan. For disregarding the word of God, King Solomon, the wisest, fell for Satan’s antics.

Two things prove that Nebuchadnezer had always been involved with the game. His name, carefully studied, has ‘kadr’ (“power”), zar (“prince”), ‘naatsar’ (“protect”), “Nebo“, a Babylonian god, is described as “the far hearing,” “he of intelligence, who teaches.” The cuneiform arrow head is his emblem; hence named Tir, “arrow.” Answering the Egyptian “Thoth,” the Greek “Hermes,” “Mercury,” the “inspired”. From the definitions above, Nebuchadnezzar can mean: ‘the prince favored by Nebo’, ‘interpreter or nabiy of the gods’, ‘Nebo his protector (from, against misfortune or (kidor “trouble”). The second reason that enabled Satan to control his mind by remote is found in Ezekiel 21:21, “For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver”. This is a classic example of demonic mind control because it involves seeking success through satanic aid. The definition of Nebuchadnezzar’s name is a validation of the global nature of satanic influence in mind game. This Bible verse informs one of the fact that the Devil is truly involved in man’s ways of life. When he came to a cross road or junction, the devil asked him to seek for direction. Where I come from, in Western Nigeria, idolatrous sacrifices are instructed to be placed at T-junctions or cross-junctions. (to be continued…)
