YAHWEH, JEHOVAH, LORD: God’s name.

4)            Jesus is called LORD or Yahweh in the vatic utterance of Isaiah 40:3 “The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” When you read the Bible and you see LORD (in capitals, in the Old Testament, it is the Hebrew tetragrammaton YHWH or the English Jehovah). Other verses of note are: King or Lord of glory Psalm 24:7, 10; 1 Corinthians 2:8; James 2:1. Jeremiah 23:5-6; 1 Corinthians 1:30. Jesus is revealed as the LORD of all in Psalm 97:9 & John 3:31. Jesus is Yahweh’s fellow and equal of Zechariah 13:7 and Philippians 2:6. Jesus is LORD Almighty in Isaiah 6:1-3 1) “In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2) Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3) And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” Apostle John explained Who Isaiah referred to when he wrote, “These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him” (John 12:41).

Rejected but most relevant to salvation

It is so clear of Whom the prophetic utterance of 13) “Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. 14) And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem” (Isaiah 8:13-14) meant. This apostolic writing, “And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed” (1Peter 2:8), confirmed it. Invoked as LORD is Jesus Christ in Joel 2:32 “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.” And it is important to confer with 1Corinthians 1:2-3 2) “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 3) Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.”

The joint benedictory understanding coming from the Father and the Son vetoes any perceived inequalities among the Persons of the Godhead. Acts 20:28 “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” His – Jesus’ – blood is called the blood of God, a Scriptural attestation of the absolute Deity of the Second Member of the Godhead.

Jesus: The Creator of everything.

Jesus is called Creator of all things. Isaiah 40:28 “Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding.” In conference with Isaiah 40:28 are Isaiah 9:6 and Colossians 2:3. So many verses teach that Jesus is one with the Father: John 5:17-23; 10:30, 33, 38; 12:45; 14:7-11; 17:11, 21-22. John 5:23 reads, “That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.” Timaō (tim-ah’-o) is the Greek word for ‘honour’ which has the definition of: ‘to estimate, fix the value, to revere, venerate.’ Two points of note are to be derived from the Scripture above. If there is no congruism of essence between the Son and the Father the Bible will not publish the documentation of this Divine congruity. Jesus cannot receive the same veneration as the Father if He is a being of the creationism.

Getting born again is a conscious effort on the part of an individual. Get born again. Say this sinner’s prayer.

“Dear heavenly Father, I come to You now in the name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I receive Him now as my Lord and my Saviour. I give God all the glory. Amen!”
